Wow, wow, wow! This is why we love Spain so much at this time of year. 23 degrees C and not a cloud in the Sky. A weekend of near perfect weather combined with some memorable golfing moments:
El Bosque in perfect condition. 6 pars on the back 9 including the shot of the weekend (for me at least) 4 foot from the flag, 160 yards out of a bunker over the trees to make par. This more than made up for a poor front 9 and the disappointment of a late change from Font del Llop. Enough too to take the first first day with a s'ford point tally the right side of the 30 mark.
Another win at El Saler made it 2 from 3 on Friday after Jonny boy took the 3 club challenge trophy at Ifach on the opening day. Next came a return to La Galiana and the hardest round to date playing off the back tees turned tough to extreme golf. Nothing to worry our big hitting World Champion Stevie-P with some great driving. Killing us on the 9th with a perfect screamer to set up a rare birdie.
Finally we wrap up, as is customary, at Oliva Nova and El Bandido strikes! Jonny takes his second award of the weekend and wrestles the November Masters title from my clutches with some cool work on 17 as Stevie-P finally succumbs to the relentless pressure.
Sunday buffet on the terrace for some golfers tales and plans for next year!
