Visit Valencia

Quite why Valencia is so overlooked on the tourist trail is a mystery. Whilst it won't keep you snapping attraction photos for a week there is plenty to see and do for a couple of days and with a beach thrown in a week is not out of the question.

Our latest visit is a quick overnight and next day excursion. We've previously stayed at the Hotel Caro (highly recommended) but as this was full we opted for the AC Colon. This turned out to be better than expected. The location is great as it is next to the bull-fighting arena, main station and is on one of Valencia's main shopping streets, the Carrer Colon. From the hotel it is also a short walk North to the Cathedral and East to the Carrer del Comte d'Altea with its many chic restaurants and bars.

Soon after arrival we headed for the Carrer del Comte d'Altea to see our old friend Vicky and the rest of the team from the Indian Palace. They have recently opened a new Indian restaurant: Swagat and It was not only good to see them again but also great to see that having they are doing so well. So well that they were having to turn away walk up customers.

The next day we hit the tourist trail and with clear blue sky overhead the September sunshine is perfect for snapping a few photos, a selection below. For our next visit we promise ourselves again that we will visit the Oceanografic.
